Author's Note: This game is currently on hiatus due to ongoing life issues and obstacles during development, we'll begin pushing builds out once it becomes feasible.

Psychic Connections (PC) is a male romance visual novel placed in a familiar setting with a light sprinkling of supernatural flavor.
Follow Mason (Name changeable if you so choose) who has just moved away from home for college. Upon arrival he finds himself inducted into a support group for individuals with psychic abilities a member he will face several choices in his day to day life as he balances college with keeping his newfound friends' abnormalities a secret.
We hope you enjoying meeting our cast and entangle yourself further with one of our four eligible bachelors as you learn more about their troubled lives as psychics. You'll have the chance to help them cope with the issues their "gifts" bring — by doing so, you may even find yourself forming a deeper connection.

It's been literal YEARS since this was last updated, you guys really think that if the devs supposedly "starts working on it" again (they won't), that this shit is going to be a good visual novel?
It's a bit presumptuous to say that they WON'T be working on it since only the devs know if they will or not. For many people still checking up on this, I'm sure it's not because it's "good" but because people still care about something that hardly ever had time to gain traction before things started happening.

Oh yeah, they took a break alright, for literal YEARS, the last build was released way back in 2021, and guess what? They kept the game's Patreon up all these years without releasing a single build ANYWHERE, and that's just the scummiest thing I've ever seen.
So, with that being said, where did all the money go? Because it sure as hell didn't go to developing the game, otherwise we would have had an update by now. The devs are using the Patreon money on anything BUT the game, you know, the thing the Patreon was created for!
I'm not saying that the devs taking a break on the game will reduce the quality when it comes back, I'm saying that the devs didn't do shit while the hiatus was going, they didn't do jack shit AND used all the money on other stuff!
Actually, I pause the Patreon Monthly to ensure existing patrons don't get charged. But I suppose it might've been less scummy to just shut it down? But that felt like a statement that the project was over, and I guess I've just tried being optimistic. It's also arguably been more work; I accidentally failed to pause the Patron one month and had to go through the work of refunding folks.
I've been trying to put little bits of work here and there on the game between working a full-time job, schooling, and trying to manage my physical and mental health between various family incidents like the loss of relatives and other accidents that have required my support.
Any Patreon money has gone towards hiring my various artists for additional assets and work all this time, polishing things for shading, or getting UI elements completed. (But again, there really isn't any, because I pause it before the start of each month, so the existing patrons don't see a re-charge.)
I've not made another itch post because while I've finished school, I'm still juggling the choice to pursue a Master's because this is supposed to be a hobby, in addition to supporting my parents who are going through a rough time, and I still don't have a clear line of when the next build will be done and don't want to promise a date that I'm unsure if I can meet. Every time I draft the next post, I feel horrible, because I feel like I've let the people who enjoy what I was producing down, and the most I can say is I'm putting in the work when I can. Which is what I already said last time.
Anyway, I can't expect folks to know what's happening in my personal life because I haven't posted here in a hot minute, so that isn't your fault. I'll be sure to draft a proper post tomorrow with proper updates. Thanks for your support. <3
Edit: I also shouldn't have responded the moment I woke up, but I don't appreciate folks stating myself to be scummy when I truly want to believe that isn't the case. I'm just trying to get through life same as anyone and trying to allocate time for this when I can, despite my schedule not being as free as when I was in a forced quarantine.

Not trying to have a go at you specifically here, but I’m seeing a lot of users complaining about how long this project is taking. Please remember that none of the people working on this project have any kind of obligation to us; we have been able to enjoy what exists of this amazing VN so far completely free of charge. From what I gather, the lead dev has had a plethora of personal, project related and educational matters to attend to over the last few years, all of which have contributed to the wait. I understand that people want to continue playing this VN, but quite frankly I think the snide remarks and backhanded jokes are unjustified. They clearly plan on picking it back up, so I’m more than happy to leave it at that and wait patiently for the next update, whenever it may come. Besides, I’d much rather they focus their efforts on pursuing their own personal goals than on writing something for my enjoyment, and I don’t expect them to have to justify that decision or explain in detail what they’ve been doing to me or anybody else. Again, this wasn’t directed at you specifically, it’s just something I’ve been noticing for a while that has progressively been getting on my wick.

I get that, but it’s obvious from the updates we have been given that this project wasn’t abandoned for no reason, and it’s clear than Rook intends to get back to it. They’ve had personal things to attend to. Why do we need any more information than that? If nothing has changed then there’s nothing more to be updated on anyways. Appears that the lead developer was getting a Bachelor’s. From their socials and what others are saying it seems like it’s going to resume, and it lines up pretty well too because it takes around 3-4 years to get a Bachelors I believe.
It did indeed take me a little over 3 years to secure.

There was a tentative December 2023 target which wasn’t met. That’s how things are sometimes. Also, people are not “owed” news, or an explanation. But whether or not the intention is to keep this project going, why not just say so?
It can’t feel great to have this hanging over your head, and if it’s being worked on the dreadful guilt-unmotivation-delay negative feedback loop can’t possibly be worth eventually coming back with an all-at-once “Sorry I’m late and didn’t keep you posted, but here’s the update!”.
Really, I imagine just biting the bullet and writing a couple sentences somewhere would go a very long way for everyone involved.

Seems like this game was just a cash grab. At least have the decency to terminate your Patreon since you seem to have killed the development of this game for over 3 years now
The Patreon has not been charging the subscribers since the last update 3 years ago. So it is not a cash grab. I know people are upset with the lack of updates on what is happening, but all we can do is patient and hope for the best.
hey rook, I'm sorry to be that guy but.... It's been a year since any news about what's going on with the development has came out, as well as it being about 9 months since the deadline you set for the release of the update, plus the lack of posts here and on twitter is starting to make me worry that something seriously bad happened to you. I know that in the last devlog that you posted stated that you would have to find a new place to live because your roommates decided to kick you out soo my guess on what happened is that you weren't able to find suitable living arrangements (I'm hoping that this is not the case). I'm hoping that you're doing well, and PLEASE update us on what is happening as soon as you're able to, and I hope that you have a good rest of your year.
Yikes it's been over a year since the last hiatus update. I get things got super difficult losing the programmer and you had to learn coding but I wish rehashing the story had been put off to a later time. Seem like a "too much on their plate" situation when lessening the load may have been a better play. Either way I hope all goes well.
I fear rook might have gotten into a cycle of update story then repeating that process to fit better then better, I've been doing it for at least 7 years atp

These problems of authors almost always end in abandoning the project or depression for not doing enough, I would advise you to stop it and rest for a few years.

We don't really know... Homie has been real quiet for a while now. I'm genuinely concerned that something happened to them physically which has prevented them from updating, responding, or tweeting anything since about June of last year. So, pray for them, I guess, if you're into that sort of thing and hope that they're okay if not.

Its been two months since the deadline for the hiatus with no word at all, and no online presence since November... at this point I'm genuinely worried something happened to rook
they replied to a raffle on the 24th so luckily they seem okay
i'm really sorry for whatever problems backstage are roadblocking this, I'm rooting for you! but also worried? is this being redone from scratch? any update would be appreciated, the readerbase won't be angry I'm sure
